They call me the squanderer!
[to the tune of the Dion’s favorite song]
Twenty-years ago when I was planning the title for a book to be " IBM: They Call Me the Squanderer," I wrote this cutesy set of lyrics to the music of Dion's favorite, The Wanderer. Thank you IBM! is a more appropriate book title, but I kept the song around anyway. IBM squandered so much in its day, I wrote this song about it. Dion would do well to sing it for all of IBM's many employees and retirees, who inside our hearts, still really love IBM. You found these lyrics on the Internet at www.letsgopublish.com.
I’m the type of troop that likes to buzz around
Where the big opps are, well you know that I’ll be found
I see them and ignore them , cause you know I am main frame
And when I lose another, they always know my name,
They call me the squanderer... yeah the squanderer,
I lose around and round and round and round and round
Well I blow opps in towns and towns
I go away without a snare
I’m just a doofus wasting time
With my big frames of iron, I’m losing all day long
They call me the squanderer... yeah the squanderer,
I lose around and round and round and round and round
Yes, I’m the type of troop that likes to buzz around
Where the big opps are, well you know that I’ll be found
I see them and ignore them , cause you know I am main frame
And when I lose another, they always know my name,
They call me the squanderer... yeah the squanderer,
I lose around and round and round and round and round
Well there’s Olsen on my left and there’s Jobsey on my right
But Hewlett is the Packard that I’ll moan about tonight
And when they ask me which loss I love the best
I say I love 'em by turns, but now Gatesey tops the rest
Oh yeah! They call me the squanderer... yeah the squanderer,
I lose around and round and round and round and round
They call me the squanderer... yeah the squanderer,
I lose around and round and round and round and round
They call me the squanderer... yeah the squanderer,
I lose around and round and round and round and round
And round and round and round….
